Allegro Recycling Services (ARS)
Allegro Recycling Services is our new pre-vocational training program! The program concentrates on all different aspects of recycling. Students recycle plastic bottles, aluminum cans, cardboard, wire hangers, cork, phone books, paper and electronic waste. Along with recycling, we also refurbish computers. It is our hope to donate the computers to needy organizations.

Plastic Bottles/Aluminum cans
Our students are placing recycling receptacles in their community to collect recyclable aluminum cans. They pick up the receptacles throughout the week, maintain them and sort and crush the recyclables in preparation for disbursement to recycling centers.
Cork
We are working with local restaurants to collect and recycle cork. Students package the cork and currently send them to Terra Cycle, a large recycling affiliate that uses it for flooring and other outlets.
Cardboard Recycling
Students break down cardboard boxes and cut up various cardboard items to be recycled. The students work on their fine motor skills by using scissors for larger cardboard pieces.
Paper Recycling
Our students currently work with several small businesses in the area recycling their paper waste. The students collect, sort, shred and weigh the paper product. All paper products are shredded in a secure room for a minimal fee and disposed of at a recycling center.
Electronic Waste
Students will dismantle, sort and recycle different types of e-waste. They are taught to identify and use variety of tools to safely dismantle items for recycling.
